Formed in New York City in 2022, the band began working the city’s underground club circuit, culminating in their debut album The Outside In: Live in Brooklyn. Now, Ethan is reimagining the music with some of the most accomplished and versatile musicians in the Twin Cities.

The Outside In performs regularly throughout NYC, at venues such as Nublu, Rockwood Music Hall, The Bowery Electric, Drom, and pop-up shows around the city. The band released their debut album "The Outside In: Live in Brooklyn" in 2024, featuring saxophonist Dayna Stephens and trumpeter Kellin Hanas.
Members of the band have performed/recorded with: Darren Criss, The Manhattan Transfer, Cory Henry, Dayna Stephens, Ingrid Jensen, Kendrick Scott, Donny McCaslin, Preyé Odede, Johnny “baceface” Ayoub, Wycliffe Gordon, Cassandra O’Neal, Jon Irabagon, Gentleman Brawlers, and more.
